Character: G'raha Tia
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV, post-Endwalker but before patches
Age: Physically 24, mentally 124, chronologically 324
Background Information: Wiki link, beware of recent patch spoils
Personality: G'raha Tia is...in short, a kind and helpful person who loves adventure almost more than anything else and is a little on the weird side.
He's very intelligent--not so much a personality trait by itself but something that affects and is affected by the rest of his personality--and insatiably curious when something catches his interest. This curiosity has earned him recognition as an expert historian for his research on the ancient civilization of Allag and how its affected the rest of the known world. He also possesses either an exceptional memory or a photographic one as well, being able to memorize and recall something he's not only seen or read only one time, but only very briefly, as he demonstrates with various spells. In one of those instances, he was able to view the instructions needed to perform it for a split second before it disappeared and in another, he happened upon it in a book by chance and was only able to peruse that particular book once.
Being smart isn't all that defines him, though. He's generally level-headed and friendly, ready to offer a helping hand where he can (if he can) or a bit of advice--sometimes some that sounds more like it might come from someone much older and more traveled than he. However, he's not extremely outgoing and as someone who generally found better friends in books than people growing up, he's far more likely to let someone approach and interact with him than he is to initiate a social encounter himself.
He's also determined, even at the expense of his own health and safety. If he has a good plan--or what he thinks is a good one--he'll carry out that plan no matter what, tweaking is as much as needed for it to reach the desired end. If he wants to find information, he'll scour every page of every book he can get his hands on that might be relevant and follow every lead he's able to follow. He's known for forgetting to eat and sleep until forced to.
G'raha enjoys stories of heroics and aspires both to count his deeds among them and also secure a place in the social circles of known heroes. He himself has done things worth being elevated to 'hero' status, but despite his accomplishments, he doesn't have the greatest of self-confidence. He doesn't put himself down, but he tends to downplay anything he's praised for if it happen to be mentioned in the same breath as something he feels is worth more than his contribution and feels a frequent need to prove himself.
Opposite this, he tends to exalt his friends' deeds embarrassingly frequently. The Warrior of Light is the primary target, but Estinien's time as a dragoon and Lyse and Hien's efforts to rebuild their homes particularly have also been subject to great praise. Or rather, fanboy moments.
To the annoyance of many, this need has formed a collaboration with his determination and partly manifested itself in a desire to throw himself into danger in hopes of making a grand sacrifice of himself. Not impulsively, but a fair few of his plans have culminated in "...and then I sacrifice myself for the good of everyone". He's made a few attempts and had some successes, but they didn't stick and he probably feels they don't really count. It's very likely he's going to end up underwhelmingly sacrificing himself to overwork.
He also has a bit of a mischievous streak and likes to (try to) be dramatic. When he's first introduced, he messes around with the Warrior of Light when they're trying to acquire the items needed to circumvent the Crystal Tower's outside defenses, following them from the shadows and teasing them about their speed in securing said items. When he does reveal himself later, he does so by jumping from the top of an observation tower; the group aside from the Warrior reacts like he's done something like that before. Even later, he tries to pass himself off as a big villain with some spectacularly awful overacting.
Abilities & Inventory:
╰┈➤His canon combat classes are Paladin, White Mage, and Black Mage, and can use the skills from those classes up to level 90. When introduced, he is an Archer, most likely with skills up to level 50, though is never actually shown fighting. Outside of combat, he's shown to use the spells Break (immobilization) and Vanish (invisibility), a mass-levitation spell, a spell that cures those affected by divine mind control (called 'tempering' in-game), and the ability to create illusions of himself that can speak and be interacted with in a limited fashion.
G'raha can also create weapons from aether that appear to be made of solid light and function the same as whatever weapons they look like. Canonly, this is only a sword and shield so far, but I'm pretty sure he can create almost anything he wants.
Speaking of aether, since Songerein doesn't really have the same energy that makes up everything, his magic will be much less effective, especially the spells that consume a lot of aether--the 'non-combat' ones and light weapons, basically--until he learns how to harness dreamotion. Or just casts from his own life force, but that will tire him quickly and can kill him if done too much.
╰┈➤Inventory-wise, he'll be coming in with this outfit and weapon
Suitability & Plans: G'raha doesn't necessarily NEED another adventure, but he could use one where there isn't a ticking clock, so to speak. A sort of vacation where he can explore a new world and not have to worry about whether said world is going to suddenly fall to ruin if he doesn't come up with some kind of plan to save it.
Songerein is obviously not without its problems, but they're not often 'this world and possibly others will die if we don't address this yesterday' type problems.
Also I think he'll have fun learning how to use dreamotion. He enjoys learning.
